The AB will be the main advisory body of the initiative and convenes twice a year. It advises on strategic political decisions, outputs and potential impact. It does not have formal decision‐making power but will be essential for buy‐in of HAQAA2. Members of AB are:

- Prof. Lamine Gueye, Secretary General, Autorité national d’assurance qualité de l’enseignement supérieur (ANAQ-Sup), Sénégal
- Prof. Gaspard Banyakimbona, Secretary General of the Inter University Council for East Africa (IUCEA), Uganda
- Prof. Bertrand Mbatchi, Representative, African Network for Quality Assurance (AfriQAN) (one member agency will be nominated – This can be rotational. Suggested to start with National University Commission, Nigeria)
